Michelle Obama added to Female Force

November 11th, 2008
Author Kevin Melrose

Continuing its series of political comics that began with biographies of Sen. Hillary Clinton and Gov. Sarah Palin, Bluewater Productions has announced a spotlight on the next first lady, titled Female Force: Michelle Obama.

According to the publisher, the book will follow the former Michelle Robinson from her youth in Chicago’s South Side and her education at Princeton and Harvard to her career as an attorney, educator and hospital executive and her marriage to Barack Obama.

“Mrs. Obama is a dynamic force and one of the most influential women in the world,” Bluewater President Darren G. Davis said in a press release. “Her potential influence on future policy decisions makes her a fascinating figure to feature.”

Female Force: Michelle Obama is due in stores in April, somewhat removed from the excitement of the election and the January inauguration.

The artwork for her mouth is not flattering.

  3. TJ Fosko Says:

So, being married to a political figure is enough is enought to warrant a biography comic now?

“And then she married the guy who was elected President…”

I thought this was to celebrate women’s accomplishments.

I just pre-ordered the Hillary comic, but only because I’m going to order the Palin comic. Those two I get. Condeleza I can get. This just seems to be an attempt to increase sales on the whole line.

yikes… the artwork IS horrific! and not just the mouth. agree the mouth is creepy, but those eyebrows!?!?! never noticed the full-on wicked witch of the north eyebrow liner on her irl. hope the artwork inside is better.

TJ Fosko – Seriously, the only “accomplishment” you picked up on in this piece is that Michelle is married to a political figure? How about “…her education at Princeton and Harvard to her career as an attorney, educator and hospital executive ” – I believe those successes in itself warrant a biography comic and were listed before the mention of her “marriage.” True, we may have not known about her if she weren’t married to Barack Obama. But come on now.
I agree that the artwork is not flattering but she does have sharp eyebrows in real life. Regardless, I’m looking forward to reading this.
