Those photoshoots look like Kraftwerk covers.

Still looks cool. Really looking forward to this flick!

@Matt M
Good call!

I’m somewhat looking forward to the movie- but Pine looks barely old enough to drive.

Pictures! Of people! Looking! This is a Spielberg pic, right?

SylSpock rules.

I keep looking at Kirk and going,”Really? That’s the best you can find?”
Maybe he’s an amazing actor, I have no clue.

Ejulp, I have the same feeling when I look at these pretty-boy glamour shots of Chris Pine. I don’t think he’s Kirk at all, when I look at him. I wish those Matt Damon rumors had been true. Actually, I wish they weren’t making this movie at all, but as I said yesterday, I’d love to be proven wrong.
I think Quinto *might* be good as Spock, but he looks carved out of wax in that picture. Or as someone else said yesterday, “those action figures are getting more lifelike, aren’t they?”

I must be weird for actually thinking Pine looks like a young Kirk.

sylar looks great as young spock but the young kirk… ehhh… so-so

“I wish those Matt Damon rumors had been true.”
Matt Damon is 38 years old. Isn’t this supposed to take place at the beginning of their careers?
October 18th, 2008 at 10:15 am
So? My point is that Damon could’ve at least carried the part. After the Bourne movies, I might’ve believed him as Kirk, even younger Kirk. He doesn’t look 38. I don’t get that feeling at all about Pine. Again, I could end up being wrong about all of this. But I doubt it. I just think it’s going to be another bad “reimagining” of an old TV show.Great fx, no doubt, but will the script/actors be any good.
If we’re going to get hung up ages, then what’s the deal with Chekov and some of the others being about the same age as Kirk? The guy playing Sulu looks older than Kirk, actually. I don’t know what Cho’s age is, but he certainly doesn’t look younger than Pine.
Hell, read the EW article. Pine himself admits he wouldn’t follow himself into the battle.

THIS THING LOOKS SO SICK
YUCK!
October 18th, 2008 at 6:56 pm
It seems with Spock that they’re going more towards the direction of the first couple of pilots, where he had genuinely yellowish skin and it was more of a makeup job than just having pointy ears. There seems to be some mild work done in the forehead and eye region as well.

Based on these images, this looks terrible. I’m not buying into Pine being in charge when he looks 14.
