Rumors of a rerelease for Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 received a boost yesterday when a poster at NeoGAF discovered a rating for the title on the ESRB database.
The entry has since been removed, but not before Joystiq and other sites grabbed screencaps. The game, which is listed for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, received a “Teen” rating for “Blood, Suggestive Themes, Violence.”
It’s possible the title is heading for the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network. However, no official announcement has been made.
Originally released in 2000, MvC2 received only a limited print run because Capcom lost the Marvel license.

MvC2 was such a fun game. I wish Marvel would give them the rights to do another one. But by saying another one, I mean another 2D fighter with even more characters, not some 3D nonsense with a dozen or less characters.

Great, great game. I have it on the Sega Saturn, and I played it for weeks. There is so much to unlock, and so many great characters. I wish they would come out with another!

Cool. Just hope it has online play. Wouldn’t mind them tossing in Dante of Devil May Cry and Deadpool but I’m probably asking for too much.

I hope it gets released again. Copies for the PS2 are super rare and go for $100 on online sites.

Kickass! Maybe if this, MKvsDC, and Street Fighter 4 do well we’ll get MvC 3 in 3D graphics with 2D perspective.

I’d rather see SVC Chaos get an update…

SVC Chaos? Fun game but I’d rather they port SVC Match of the Millenium. Great crossover game that people missed out on since it was only available for the Neo Geo Pocket. A little work to make the sprites non-chibi and you have an instant classic. Say word to the Felicia dancing game, let us use a Dance Dance Revolution pad to dance with Felicia to Chun-Li’s theme song and we are good to go.

MvC 3…can this just happen before the end of the world…please?

The only thing that could top this would be a leaked screenshot for an unannounced X-Men VS. Streetfighter sequel.

“Originally released in 2000, MvC2 received only a limited print run because Capcom lost the Marvel license.”
Wasen’t it only the X-Box and Playstation 2 (both released around late 2002) that had limited print runs. The original release on the Dreamcast (2001?) wasen’t limited as Capcom had the full license.

I thought only X-Men: COTA, Marvel Super Heroes and X-Men VS SF ever saw release on the Sega Saturn (although I may be mistaken). Marvel Vs Capcom and Marvel Vs Capcom 2 both saw release on the Sega Dreamcast.
Great game and I really do hope it comes out on the PS3 (stops me having to dig out my Dreamcast to play it!).

Wish it was coming out on the Wii as well!

X-Men vs. SF and MSH vs. SF were on the Sega Saturn, but only the Japanese versions. They were both closer to the arcade versions because you had tag team play and the PS1 versions didn’t have this. Which is why I purchased a modded Sega Saturn that let me play Japanese games, heh. ^_^ You needed an extra ram cart to play them because the games by themselves were too big for the Saturn! That’s the same reason why they couldn’t do tag team play on the PS1, there was no way to increase the ram on PS1.
The English versions of X-Men Children of the Atom and Marvel Super Heroes were on the Saturn.

It’s a good thing I bought the Saturn USB controllers. It would have been nice to see Dante in MVC3. I own this on the Dreamcast and PS2 so I had to get adaptors to play with my Saturn pads.

Wii is garbage. And if you buy a console don’t waste your money on XBOX 360 which is also garbage. Get the PS3 straight up.
