Kirsten Dunst tells MTV’s Splash Page that she’s “in” for the next Spider-Man movie, but stopped short of making an official announcement.
That may finally put to rest long-running speculation as to whether Dunst would return as Mary Jane Watson. Or, y’know, it may just start a new round of rumors.
Director Sam Raimi and star Tobey Maguire reportedly signed on earlier this month for the fourth and fifth installments of the Sony Pictures franchise, which will be shot back to back over six months next year. Maguire’s deal is said to be a record $50 million in salary and profit sharing.
Spider-Man 4 is scheduled for release in May 2011, putting it at odds with Marvel’s The First Avenger: Captain America.

Damn. She was always the weakest actor in the franchise.

Don’t you mean Spider-man 4???????

headline’s wrong.

dont you mean spider-man 4

Need to change your title to “in for Spider-man 4″ not 3. Unless that was a comment on her performance in SM3. In which case, well played.

You might want to double-check that headline. I’m pretty sure Dunst already made Spider-Man 3.

you’d think peter would be scared of those snaggle teeth.

i’m the only one in the world who thinks she’s pretty, i think.

Marvel should create a story line that summer in their comics where Spidey lobbies readers and the public to go see Cap’s movie instead of his, since he’s already had 3 big success’ and this would be Cap’s first movie.

That’s too bad. I was hoping they would replace her with an actress.
They’ve got to find something else to do with her in number 4. Isn’t her character the most kidnapped woman in NYC by now? They’re running into the same problem that had in the books with gwen. Time to bump her off. I’d pay to see that at least twice.

Spider-Man’s gonna fight Snaggletooth in the next release.

“She was always the weakest actor in the franchise”
I’m sorry, did you witness James Franco’s “acting” in the last piece of crap, er, I mean movie?
Not just bad.
HAYDEN CHRISTENSEN bad.

While not thrilled to hear that Sam Raimi was coming back to helm it, I had some hope that Dunst wouldn’t be back. C’est la Vie. Maybe they’ll finally explore that story that she wanted to do where Peter dies and she gives birth to a whole mess of spider babies.

I wonder if Dunst will look even MORE haggard than she did in Spidey 3. Maybe it’s part of some kind of progression.
Spider-Man 1: Hot. Spider-Man 4: Not.

I was hoping that we would not have to put up with her in anymore Spider-Man films. She was great in the first movie but as the poster above me put it looked quite haggard in the last film.

Wow that’s……..to bad.
