I think All-Star Jimmy Olsen NEEDS to happen. Imagine a whole series of Jimmy doing pieces for the Daily Planet like in issue 4. How about Jimmy Olsen’s “My night with The Batman”? Then we can see some more of Quietly’s great batman drawings like he did for the cover of ASB&R.

also, death note is just coming out on dvd now in america?
almost two years ago i got a korean box set of the first two, and it had english subs as well as korean.
I saw L in theatres in korea earlier this year (but with korean subs)

Yes, but Morrison’s run on Batman is why I give him such a short leash now. I’m sorry to say that after Arkham Asylum, JLA, We3 (not DC, I know), and A-S Supes, but it’s true. I can’t speak about Final Crisis, but it looked like one big sprawling mess (with continuity nightmares as an added bonus!) to me. Unless he’s completely gone off the deep end — and that’s entirely possible — I’ll always at least consider checking out his work though.

What Inoue has done with Vagabond is take the massive novel, Musashi, and done a straightforward and excellent adaptation into manga. My mother read the original novel when it was serialized in Japan (she was a teenager back then, and yes, she is Japanese). I read the novel when it was translated and published in the US some years ago. And I’ve collected the manga series from Viz. The humor isn’t there, because it never WAS there, in the novel, and it wasn’t there in the Japanese television series adapted from the novel (which was shown in Hawaii on the Japanese TV channel, again years and years ago). It’s not fair to expect what shouldn’t be there in the first place. Slam Dunk is what it is, which is great, and so is Real. But for me, Vagabond is what I love. Maybe because I’ve loved the story ever since I was a kid (and I thought it was so cool that my mother had to beg the young man working at her father’s bicycle shop to let her read the story’s installments, figuring she was probably doing something kinda forbidden).

All-Star Superman is why I read comics. And why I have given Morrison such a long leash on his other DC work. It will be missed.

Also getting Robin, which has been a very pleasant surprise since Fabian took over.
