Cigar Aficionado has long adorned its covers with celebrity images enjoying a stogie. Looking at my recent issue, I considered who from the world of comics should be on these covers.
Well, Nick Fury is the obvious choice. You can’t think of Nick without conjuring up an image of his eyepatch and cigar. And the blue-eyed idol of millions himself, the Thing, right?
Who else?
Howard The Duck, he always seems to enjoy sparking up a terd.
Pip is a corona man… er… troll, but probably not cover material.
Publishing powerhouse J. Jonah Jameson is, though.
And what about Perry White (finally a DC character)? Now there’s a man that is serious about his cigar. He smokes one in the work place at the Daily Planet. He even smokes one on his Slurpee cup!
I tell you, Cigar Aficionado, you’re really missing out on something here!

what about Joey Q’s no smoking policy at Marvel? that would be a no no wouldn’t it? What about Hellboy smoking a Cuban or Jonah Hex with a short cigar a-la Clint Eastwood?

Wolverine.
General “Thunderbolt” Ross

whoa whoa whoa! what about Wolvie? Logan used to love a good cigar back before the no smoking policy. he’d probably have the best shot at landing the cover nowadays.

Don’t forget Chubby da Chuna! “DA FUG!”

It should be noted that Perry White gave up the cigars ages ago, after he heard about Jim Gordon’s heart attack.

Yeah, but you can tell he *wants* one!

I agree with the others that Wolverine is the most obvious choice, at least until Joephisto decided that his characters can never smoke. Just make deals with the devil.
I want to know Shatner’s still going strong if he honestly smokes those things. Then again, George Burns made to 100. I think just one of those things would kill me, and I feel like I’m in pretty good shape.

I think that Perry White stopped smoking after having lung cancer. Now, in this old-new-retro Superman continuity, I think he carries a cigar in his mouth but it’s never lit.
