Although actress Eva Mendes has said plans for a sequel to last year’s Ghost Rider either stalled or were abandoned, star Nicolas Cage seems to think the project is moving ahead full throttle.
“There have been talks and good ones with where to go with the character,” Cage tells MTV News. “It looks like it will take place in Europe and the character will work with the [Catholic] Church. It’ll be a completely new experience. It’s exciting.”
Cage goes on to say that, while the planning is in the very early stages and no official announcement has been made, he knows Ghost Rider 2 will be filmed in Europe.

If they make another Mortal Kombat movie, they should cast Nick Cage as Ghost Rider. “Get over here!!!!”

Oh Nicolas you silly man. There’s not going to be a Ghost Rider II that you’re involved with.

“this good to hear…surely i cant be the only one who liked this movie”
No, Nicolas Cage liked it, too.

I can’t leave a one word comment? (It was “yuck.”)
How about, yucky ducky yuck.
The first one was abysmal. I’m sure the second will be even better…
Fire Cage, Hire Jason Aaron to write the treatment… something. Let Marvel have it… but then they’d do a West Coast Avengers with Ghost Rider… so maybe not.

I just watched this again on cable a couple weeks ago. Apparently, I hate myself.

I actually heard that Nic wasn’t returning for the sequel but his toupee was.

I liked the first one as well and would welcome a sequel, but, heck, I love almost all the Marvel movies. Except Elektra, which rated a gigantic “meh.”
September 4th, 2008 at 10:26 am
The problem with Elektra and Ghost Rider was that the villians were terrible. Cake and Garner were fine.
September 4th, 2008 at 10:26 am
Yes, apparently his name is now Nicholas Cake…

Ghost Rider pales in comparison to the “Not the bees! Not the bees!” movie. Make a sequel to that, then I’ll start caring.
September 4th, 2008 at 11:14 am
Ghost Rider needs the ‘Hulk’ treatment. Nuff said. Peace.
September 4th, 2008 at 11:30 am
why would they want to make a sequel to a movie that puts people to sleep?
September 4th, 2008 at 12:59 pm
Ah come on… Ghost Rider was worth the for the scene where the two Ghost Riders ride towards the final confrontation with Blackheart while the distorted version of “Ghost Riders In The Sky” played in the background!
I bought the DVD for that scene alone.
Pity there wasn’t as much effort paid to getting some decent villains written…

Revamp it, base it off of Aaron’s run, make it quirky, people will love it; in a perfect world Tarintino would script and Rodriguez would direct.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Fuck Marvel.

I did like some things about the first one. The fight scenes were awful, very anti-climactic. Though all I’m seem to remember of those was him giving Lil’ Blackheart the penance stare.

Wow…the thought of seeing Nicholas Cage as Johnny Blaze again actually just made me vomit in my mouth a little bit.
