Eisner-award winner Fabio Moon says one of the reasons he and his brother Gabriel Ba don’t draw superheroes for Marvel or DC is because “we are not fit for it.” He then shares this drawing of The Thing:
Me, I can think of plenty of reasons why they might want to focus on their own material versus working on superheroes for Marvel or DC. But not being fit for it? That’s just crazy talk.

Geez, especially now, when it seems like there are more opportunities for alternative takes on the licensed properties than ever before…this isn’t 1978 anymore, when artists were expected to cleave to the Kirby/Romita Marvel House Style. These days, there’s enough room for the likes of Lethem and Dalrymple’s Omega the Unknown, Sturm, Davis and Sikoryak’s Unstable Molecules, and so many more.
Of course, they’re closer to the situation than I am, but I find this hard to believe…

Dear God, make them do Amazing Spider-Man. I just think that would be so fun.

There are so many characters they could do justice to in either DC or Marvel universe. I think a Bizarro story would be great for one.

Too bad Spider-Man’s Tangled Web isn’t being published anymore, that would have been a perfect place for a Moon Bros Spidey tale…

Personally i dont like their art and so see nothing wrong with not having to see it on Marvel and DC books, but the style really isnt that different than what you normally see those places
