Over in his regular Cup O’ Joe column at MySpace, this week Joe Quesada talks about San Diego and The Dark Knight, and shows off the latest of those “funkadelic teaser ads” (which, as someone points out in our comments section below, actually came out a few weeks ago):

Interview excerpt:
JM: Okay, Reed makes the interesting remark, “They used my brain to start this war.” Without using your dreaded words “You’ll just have to wait and see,” what the hell does that mean?
JQ: Okay, I won’t say “wait and see—”
JM: You just did.
JQ: Now who’s being the smart-ass? And you always tell me that comedy is hard. How about I just say, “Read New Avengers 44?”
Commentary:
Remember when we were told that you don’t have to buy anything other than the actual mini series to understand it? At $3.99 a pop I want the story to be all inclusive. This is annoying.

Heh, isn’t that Gilmore Girls 2099 image he posted from Bully’s blog? Pretty amusing there, should’ve given a link to the original post though.

So the funkadelic teasers are x-men noir right?
Cyclops, Rogue and Beast/Wolverine?

Jeez, Joey… Why can’t you just say TDK was freakin’ brilliant (which it was) and leave it at that? The movie was NOT too long… Probably the fastest 2.5 hours of my life, each of the three times I’ve seen it.
I suppose the scenes on the two boats could’ve been shortened a bit, but that’s a really minor nit. At the very least, the running time of the film is nothing to be mad about. Did Joey get mad at all of LOTR films too? Harry Potter?
Apparently, ol’ Joephisto can’t bring himself to ever say something nice about a DC property without making it a backhanded compliment or qualifying it in some way. Even Stan Lee doesn’t do that. Tiresome schtick, Joey.

Robert Downey Jr.’s review of The Dark Knight sounds more like something JQ would say…

It’s funny because that image has been released before. It’s not new. I’ve had it for over two weeks. Also, in agreement with the poster earlier, for $3.99 we should be getting more than just 22 story pages. Cardstock cover is worth an extra dollar, my ass.

Yeah, my mistake … that one came out around the San Diego Comic-Con, if not at the con itself.
There is a fourth one, though…

I saw a resemblance to Cyclops and Rogue with the first two, but everytime I see this one, I think Son of Satan. Its the upturned hair, reminds me of how he was drawn in his first few appearances.

@Shaun – The fact that TDK is too long seems a pretty common complaint, you can hardly blame Joe for thinking the same as most people who saw the movie

Third one seems to be Magneto magnetically ripping away a metal badge.

Did you pull the original story? What the hell?
