I am of two minds on FC Revelations. I'm dropping the main FC title and haven't really found Montoya and Allen as interesting as super-heroes. But they were great as cops, the art in the preview looks good, and any comic that begins with the Spectre getting righteous at last on Dr. Light has something going for it. I'll probably try it.

And even more fun will be the next installment of Batman RIP, the most frustrating comic ever, since I still can't tell if it's a train wreck or sheer genius. Or both.

At least we have Booster and the Batfamily in Dixon's last DC work. That should be fun.

RAB -- Dishonest may have been a poor choice of words. I'll try to have a more thoughtful review up soon.

That criticism of Boys of Steel seems a little off base. He doesn't lie, even by omission, and includes more about their later travails than I would ever have expected in a children's book. Marc is very outspoken on the subject of creator rights in general as well as the shabby treatment of Jerry and Joe and Bill Finger in particular, as can be seen on his blog:

http://noblemania.blogspot.com/

But would it have been remotely appropriate or fitting to write a book for children whose primary message was "create something wonderful and you will be scorned and humiliated by those who steal your creation from you, spending the rest of your days full of pain and resentment, and long after you're gone your family will still have to fight for justice"? Or "think twice before you create something, because you're likely to be ripped off and cheated"? I suppose that's more "honest" but is it helpful? Children have the whole rest of their lives to learn that sort of lesson. They can be beaten down by life, especially if they've been discouraged early...or they can refuse to be beaten down, because they've received encouragement and refuse to settle for less than they deserve.

Boys of Steel tells kids "you might not get your idea right the first time and have to keep thinking about it and redoing it" and "other people might not see the value in your idea and reject it, but that doesn't mean it's not good, so keep trying and don't be discouraged." Is that a bad thing to teach? To focus too much on the rest of the story would detract from these equally important messages.

I expect that the Millennium and Invasion! collections are coming out this summer as a "Take that!" to Secret Invasion. Sort of a "Hah! We did this 20 years ago." The first has established characters -- okay, supporting characters, for the most part, rather than super-heroes -- revealed to have been secret alien spies for however long. The second is an all-out alien invasion.

On the other hand, Invasion! was actually, y'know, good.

correction: *i am pretty disinterested*

Does anyone else's words "ghost out" when they type replies in the response box (especially at the edges)...ever since the new site has went up, I've had problems with it (leading to embarrassing grammatical errors).

Is the conclusion of Kraven's first hunt in Amazing Spider-Man arriving on this day? That makes more sense than a sales joke....pretty am disinterested in all of BND, but the new Jimenez Kraven arc has been very good, glad I gave it a chance.
