San Diego Aftermath: One last round of pictures

Vaneta Rogers was nice enough to send over one last round of pictures from the San Diego Comic-Con, which took place 100 million years ago. Or maybe it was yesterday? I’m still having a hard time remembering.

Anyway, enjoy the pics and her commentary …

Jenna Dewan from Step Up signs Magdelena posters at the Top Cow booth, promoting the movie in which she’s slated to star as Patience.

Luke Goss (who played Prince Nuada in Hellboy 2) will co-star in Magdelena with Jenna Dewan.

Silent Bob. He wouldn’t say anything to confirm that’s who he was (go figure), but it says so on his credentials.

The Star-Trike drives by the front of the convention center.

Klingons use Dell laptops. Who knew? This was in one of the panel rooms where a Star Trek-related panel was taking place.

Leisure Suit Boba Fett, complete with bling and booze.

Marvel Marketing guru Jim McCann emcees a trivia contest at the Marvel booth. As I took the photo, Peter David told me, “I wrote some of these questions, so I’m interested to see how they do.”

“Convention Friends.” I thought the cheeks were the most interesting thing in this photo… until I got home and noticed the almost-naked guy to the right.

Dad looks a little tired of posing for photographs, but the costumes are adorable.

Elaborate costumes everywhere!

Fables characters — complete with Bufkin the Drunk Flying Monkey on Bigby’s shoulder.

Even fairies like San Diego Comic-Con.

Red wins! On the back mezzanine, overlooking the harbor, several groups were battling in full armor as convention goers ate their lunch nearby. Those aren’t soft swords either — the noise of the swords smacking against shields was pretty overwhelming.

The armoured fighters in the last picture appear to be members of the Society for Creative Anachronisms. I was an active member at one time and the PR guy in the state of NH, Barony of Stonemarche.

Whew! I’m glad that’s it for San Diego posts…hope Wizard World has better news.
