I’ll never understand why people interpret someone else’s differing opinion as a personal affront. It’s okay that not everyone likes what you like.

Simon — One man’s poison is another man’s ambrosia, or something like that. I tried to make it clear in the review that this was my personal, visceral reaction to the book and not necessarily a reflection of the book’s overall quality. In other words, just because I felt that I was wasting my time doesn’t mean I think that you necessarily will. Sorry if that didn’t come through. I do agree with you that it helps clear up some of the obscure references Morrison frequently makes.

I read the Batman Encyclopedia cover to cover. I found it very useful given how many of these long lost things are informing Morrison’s run. And I feel vaguely insulted in being told that I shouldn’t have spent my time reading it from cover to cover. It was FUN. Entertaining. Certainly a better read that most books out there now. If anything, I think it was too short, since it listed some DC heroes and not others.
