SDCC: More on the Vertigo Crime imprint

July 25th, 2008
Author Kevin Melrose

ICv2.com has a few more details from Vertigo’s Karen Berger on Vertigo Crime, the new imprint announced Wednesday just before Comic-Con.

The line will debut in June 2009 with two titles: Dark Entries, from crime novelist Ian Rankin and artist Werther Dell’Edera; and Filthy Rich, from 100 Bullets writer Brian Azzarello and artist Victor Santos.

According to Berger, the hardcover black-and-white graphic novels will be “pretty much book size,” and run about 200 pages.

I absolutely cannot wait for this to start. Very very wise move making them graphic novels. And I love that they’ll be black and white, though they shouldn’t necessarily limit themselves.

I will most likely get every one they publish.

Nice! So, Vertigo Crime will be published similarly how the Minx books are made, only they’ll be darker and for mature readers, right? I like it.

Sure wish there was a line/imprint/comic that’ll publish adult stories about crime-fighting in Gotham City…

  3. Simon DelMonte Says:

I much prefer seeing original crime novels by noted writers than adaptations of crime novels by noted writers.

  4. Reno Dakota Says:

Yeah, this is cool as all hell.
