I'm all kinds of pumped for the idea of a GREATEST AMERICAN HERO comic book series. Hell, I want to write the thing!

Yes, the original TV series looks pretty dated (as do most shows from that time period), but the banter and chemistry of Katt, Culp and Selleca is still surprisingly sharp. As a child growing up in the early '80s, I watched a lot of bad TV and despite the series' flaws, THE GREATEST AMERICAN HERO managed to provide something different, entertaining and yes, fun.

I had read back in 2000, that there were plans in the works for a movie based on the series with Adam Sandler in the title roll. Hopefully, that would happen as opposed to Will Farrel or John"I look like someone you find on a sex offenders' list." Rielly.

Culp even lent his voice to a recent GAH parody on Robot Chicken.

I'm very curious about the comic. I'm having trouble picturing what the Greatest American Hero would look like with modern hair.

Yes, I would assume it's referring to a new comic book. It's definitely a step in the right direction for those who are fans of the show. There was a lot of potential for "GAH," but ABC really didn't understand it when they wanted Ralph crashing into walls and such instead of the more character-oriented stories of particularly the first two seasons.

Plus, this isn't a come down for Connie, she has done the occasional movie was well as tout her cosmetic line. She does very well in her own regard, as have Culp and Katt.

And - Culp is very much alive at nearly 78. Plus, he still acts fairly regularly on TV. One of his more recent endeavors was "Everybody Loves Raymond."

"What a come down for Sellecca!"

From what? What has she been doing lately other than inspiring John Tesh to write more new age music?

I'm blindly assuming this is reference to the new comic book, no? I recall reading a week or two back that Bill Katt was going to co-write or be in some way connected to the book.

It would certainly explain why he was willing to don the togs for the Nick at Nite TV Awards.

Yeah, I got the first season on DVD too, and it really dates badly. I loved this show as a kid and I was super excited to see the DVDs, but I can't watch it. The hair, clothing, and topical jokes are pretty thick, unlike I Spy, an even older show that I think holds up well. The main problem was the teenagers that Hinkley taught, they weren't the best actors and everything they say sounds like a cliche now. I'd forgotten just how much of them was in the show.

I really hope an update can be done well.

I've got the first season on DVD, and man, do they have their work cut out for them. Actually, it might be easier, being that they're not restricted to Ralph only being in the suit for the last five minutes of the show in order to save on the budget.

Hmmm, an updated version of the classic TV series could be quite interesting, just as long as Katt, Selleca, and Culp all have substantial roles in it. Maybe it could be GAH: The Next Generation with Ralph's kid in the suit? Just as long as the CW or SciFi don't get their claws in it--we don't want it to turn into another 90210 with superheroes deal, like Smallville, Birds of Prey, and Flash Gordon. All of those would've been excellent shows if they'd stuck with the original source material and abandoned the teen angst...

That's cool, wish I was in attendance.

I met William Katt at one of the Motor City Comic Cons, he was a real nice guy!

I've always heard that GAH was one of the properties due for a movie...that must be the announcement.
