The road goes on forever and the party never ends

San Diego or bust

Not even the high price of gas can stop comic creators from getting to San Diego. Postcards editor Jason Rodriguez is hitting the road tomorrow, as he’s driving cross country from Washington, D.C. to San Diego for Comic Con International. He’ll be blogging about his trip along the way:

I have audiobooks. Satellite radio. A bunch of new CDs. Old friends and new friends in the 17 cities I’m stopping in. I’ll pick up a hitchhiker – always wanted to do that. I’ll meet interesting people in the hostels I’m staying in (and I should probably add that I love to sleep with my laptop clutched against my chest). I’m leaving tomorrow. I plan on having overnights in Knoxville, Memphis, Oklahoma City, Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Flagstaff, Phoenix, and then four nights in San Diego. There’s one open night which, as of now, is likely being spent in either Nashville or Memphis. I have lunch plans, dinner plans, movie plans – people taking me on tours of their scenes and people promising to get me pretty drunk – couches to sleep on and, finally, an awards ceremony.

Meanwhile, Ryan Claytor is also driving from his new home in Michigan to San Diego, and back again — with signings at shops along the way:

As I mentioned before, I’m moving to Michigan. Actually, I arrived in Michigan one week ago, but I need to retrieve Squirrelly, my trusty car with 350,000 miles to his name. Oh, and I also have a new book coming out. All this seemed reason enough to plan another a cross country signing tour, so here’s the line-up of the 18 stops in 10 states between California and Michigan:
