SO LAME!!!!
And on a totally dorky fanboy note, what’s up with the Flash’s costume?
July 13th, 2008 at 12:25 pm
I’m sorry but who did they make this for?
Is there an audience that was dying to see Superman fight Sub-Zero?
AE.
July 13th, 2008 at 12:30 pm
that’s a really crappy trailer. whoever put it together didn’t do the best job.
July 13th, 2008 at 12:43 pm
Is it any more lame than Marvel vs Capcom? I’ll hold off on judgment til I actually play it first.
July 13th, 2008 at 12:47 pm
Looks cool. Flash’s costume is cool but whats up w/ him getting finished?
July 13th, 2008 at 12:50 pm
And the fact that showed the majority of a fatality caused much rejoicing.
LOL I think Catwoman’s jacket is unzipped more than usual though.
Guys put a code in there to get her Balent costume if you’re looking for boobies that badly.

@Altered:
Not Marvel Reading retards.
July 13th, 2008 at 2:06 pm
GTFO Asdf
I laughed when i saw catwomans outfit. I’m not impressed with the animation- it looks like the the last-gen MK games
July 13th, 2008 at 2:39 pm
SMH: Its not my fault if you read something as retarded as Marvel comics, is it?
July 13th, 2008 at 2:54 pm
i hope selina kyles alternate costume is black and zipped up, otherwise im not buying this perve-fest
July 13th, 2008 at 3:11 pm
well i enjoyed marvel vs capcom. so i’m probably gonna have a blast with this one too.
besides, back in the snes days they came out with justice league take force which really wasn’t all that. so i got sum high hopes for this one.
looking forward to it
July 13th, 2008 at 3:40 pm
Asdfman, are you like one of those DC apologists who likes everything that they do? That way it would explain your stupid responses. another typical fanboy

“Is it any more lame than Marvel vs Capcom? I’ll hold off on judgment til I actually play it first.”
Um, the Marvel Vs. Capcom games are well loved amongst both sets of fans, they looked beautiful, played well and it’s a shame they are unavailable.
July 13th, 2008 at 4:02 pm
@Titandeoro:
Everyone who comes to Newsarama is most likely a fanboy, yourself included.
July 13th, 2008 at 4:24 pm
Don’t assume that it’ll be a lame game by a trailer. Besides, the concept is REALLY awesome and my guilty pleasure is watching Superman get his butt handed to him because I hate him with a passion. Is sad to see Flash lose to Scorpion though
July 13th, 2008 at 4:34 pm
It’s appropriate that a juvenile “Marvel vs. DC” fight has broken out in a comments thread for a juvenile-looking “Mortal Kombat vs. DC” game.
To be fair, there’s nothing wrong with the game being juvenile, since it’s, uh, a video game about dudes punching each other. I’m turned off by Catwoman’s massive, heaving breasts, but the target audience is pretty clearly 14-year-old boys, so whatevs.
Also, the Flash’s moves look pretty nifty. Do we know what other DC characters will be in this?
July 13th, 2008 at 4:41 pm
This looks like a very fun fighting game cant wait.
July 13th, 2008 at 5:11 pm
This is just the tip of the iceberg.
July 13th, 2008 at 5:41 pm
Mortal Kombat is too big of a joke to deserve the right to ‘kill’ DC Universe characters.
July 13th, 2008 at 5:46 pm
who are we kidding? we’re all going to play this
July 13th, 2008 at 6:14 pm
Jimmy, you big tease!
Matter-Eater Lad should be an unlockable character. Also: Gnort.
July 13th, 2008 at 6:41 pm

I wasn’t bashing Marvel vs Capcom, I love those games. I was just trying to be ironic.

Kung lao better be in this.
July 13th, 2008 at 8:02 pm
It does look kinda bad, but so did the original Mortal Kombat. I always liked the Street Fighter art direction and animation better. MK was always so stiff and dorky looking - this is true to that legacy, but sadly, it brings the DC heroes down with it.
Also Catwoman’s breasts are just gratuitous and wrong. She doesn’t look that way in the comics - isn’t that the point of a game like this? Way to make a game largely unplayable for kids and people with kids and well a lot of people out there that will just be too embarrassed.
The trailer also looks like it was done on someone’s laptop - it’s YouTube quality.
And really, what is up with Flash’s costume?
July 13th, 2008 at 9:52 pm
The people involved in this game had already said that Several DC charactors, will not be performing fatalities. So that already ends alot of speculation.
2nd,anyone who feels the need to insult the Mortal Kombat universe, and make it sound as if they don’t deserve to be involved with DC charactors. Should then take a long look in the mirror. Mortal Kombat has persisted this long and it wasn’t without reason.
Mortal Kombat universe has actual real fighters…

“Asdfman, are you like one of those Marvel apologists who likes everything that they do? That way it would explain your stupid responses. another typical fanboy”
Ohh that’s an original response. what’s the matter? Couldn’t find any more insulting names to call people who read Marvel Comics?
July 13th, 2008 at 10:08 pm
Not for me.
Who the hell is the guy punching Superman?! Wow. He can draw blood out of Superman.
July 13th, 2008 at 10:13 pm
Puzzeled about the Catwoman breasts being brought as wrong for this game and all the other whining. Unplayable for kids? Never seen Dead or Alive? Mortal Kombat has a history of killing opponents but that is fine where covered breasts are not? Righhhtt big breasts bad, Beating the heck out of each other is okay? Now that is logic. Catwoman is not big breasted in the comics? Where the heck have you all been?. Adam Hughes covers on Catwoman for the last few years. Hello!?! Do people just need something to whine about? When big breasted women walk by does it freak you out while a person laying bleeding from a beating you find cool? Priorities people.
July 13th, 2008 at 10:17 pm
I like mortal kombat, and I like the DCU I just dont like them together.
July 13th, 2008 at 11:15 pm
To answer the question about Superman and power level. There is magic bringing the two groups together which is one of Supermans weaknesses so he wont be as powerful as in the comics. This game looks fun. Not many fighting games on PS3 so I cant wait.
July 14th, 2008 at 12:02 am
This trailer looks awful, but I bet the real game is gonna look better. I think I’m gonna play it, but I’m not thrilled for it. Peace.
July 14th, 2008 at 2:48 am
I was just about to answer the “How can he deck Superman?” question, but Me handled it. Thanks!
July 14th, 2008 at 8:04 am
Flash is looking like he’s about to do the dishes, there.
July 14th, 2008 at 9:10 am
It’s Shang Tsung-A SORCEROR. His soul steal attack gave him away. It also looks like he’s getting older…guess Shao Khan’s enchantment from MK2 is wearing off.
Superman doesn’t like magic much and the Mortal Kombat world is magic rich…
And Mortal Kombat is a MATURE game. Kids shouldn’t be playing it.
July 14th, 2008 at 10:43 am
It looks pretty stiff right now, but I’m guessing that this isn’t the final build. They just wanted to tease us with the big guns. Catwoman looks awesome, and anyone complaining about her tits hanging out is either (a)a fanboy who obsesses WAY too much about “what the real costume looks like” or (b)someone who doesn’t like boobies.
July 14th, 2008 at 12:24 pm
huh? Wasn’t Marvel vs Capcom goddamn awesome? DC sheep.
July 14th, 2008 at 12:27 pm
Hey kids:
Knock off the personal insults.

I love DC and I loved MK2, but I need to see a little more before I decide if this game is worth buying. Oh, and where the hell is Raiden? Now he is someone who should be able to regularly PWN Supes.
July 14th, 2008 at 4:15 pm
What is with all these comments complaining that it’s not realistic for Superman to be fist fighting other characters like Scorpion? Who cares? Since when are video games realistic? Was this an issue in Marvel vs. Capcom having Ryu punch the Incredible Hulk? Niko in GTA4 gets shot in the head multiple times and heals himself by eating a burger and no one complains about it even once, but show Superman getting beaten up by Sub-Zero and fanboys are up in arms.
July 14th, 2008 at 5:10 pm
Man, this game concept thing with the mystical zombie ninjas being equal to Superman is total crap.
July 14th, 2008 at 5:46 pm
ANYTHING mystical is equal or beyond Superman. It was pretty much a failsafe for his creators making such a character with almost no frickin weaknesses. Nobody likes a character with no or off the wall weaknesses
July 14th, 2008 at 9:26 pm
“ANYTHING mystical is equal or beyond Superman. It was pretty much a failsafe for his creators making such a character with almost no frickin weaknesses. Nobody likes a character with no or off the wall weaknesses”
@Samotage!: This is a common misconception about Superman, one which Byrne addressed early in his run. Superman is not vulnerable to magic per se — it just affects him the same way it affects anyyone else.
Example: one time Morgaine Le Fey summoned up (via magic) and iron cage and locked Superman in it (this was the Demon crossover early in Byrne’s ACTION run). Supes basically said OK, it was magically summoned… but it’s still just an iron cage and *THWAP* tore the thing open like paper.
Now like a mystic power-bolt or some such nonsense would probably draw blood. But it would have to hit him first. This is when 99% of Superman writers “conviently” forget most of Supes’s powers and forget he has SUPERSPEED. They just let him stand there and get hit.
Poop in a sombrero, my friend. Poop. Sombrero.
July 14th, 2008 at 9:38 pm
Ok, anyone even touching The Flash is just stupid.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:13 pm
What is this for, the Nintendo 64 or Sony Playstation 1? Seriously, the graphics are TERRIBLE!! I love how newsarama uses unqualified qualifiers like “highly anticipated”? What is that based on, exactly? This looks like a giant, steaming turd of a videogame. Looks like another infamous DC game for the history books.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:37 pm
“Highly anticipated” — what are you talking about? Please point out where I said that — heck, where I said anything about the trailer or the game — in my post.
