I like that you can see the underbutt crease, or as I like to call it, the buttpocket.

I just wish other people knew how easy it is to do the hero in cartoon then live action
July 8th, 2008 at 11:48 am
Wow – even in cartoons, the emphasis is on Wonder Woman’s ass. Would we ever see a similar pose for Green Lantern or The Flash or any other male hero? Probably not. Yay, sexism!
July 8th, 2008 at 1:10 pm
That pose would make no sense for The Flash, but I could easily see Green Lantern standing like that with his ring-clad fist raised in place of the lasso, spandex-clad butt and all.
Ditto for many other characters, male or female. It’s kind of a classic action hero pose.
But you go on ahead and cry sexism, if it makes you feel better.

Why does the pose “make sense” for Wonder Woman?
To the extent that we see superhero women more often than superhero men in poses that show off their, um, assets, then the weight of the evidence supports my position.
But you go on ahead and deny reality, honeybunch.

Well, it’s a movie about a gorgeous Amazon super-hero. The target audience is males from teens – 30s. Considering that, I’d say thye shot is rather restrained. They’re either going to have a shot of her from the front or back; you would probably accuse them of sexism either way (emphasizing breasts or butt). Maybe your problem is more with her costume than anything else. Please enlighten us all and explain how exactly they could pose her in that outfit so as not to offend your delicate sensibilities “honeybunch”.

Forget her ass, why is her nose so jacked up?
July 8th, 2008 at 9:23 pm
Wonder Woman’s butt is represented by single bold LINE. I doubt the artist’s intention was to titillate.

>>Well, it’s a movie about a gorgeous Amazon super-hero. The target audience is males from teens – 30s.
How do you know what the target audience is? If so, can you share with us the methodology you used for your market research?
And what does her “gorgeousness” have to do with her being a superhero? Your comment simply proves my main argument: female superheroes cannot be defined apart from their sex appeal while male superheroes’ sex appeal is not made manifest.
>>They’re either going to have a shot of her from the front or back; you would probably accuse them of sexism either way (emphasizing breasts or butt).
Showing her from the front would actually make more sense since then we would see the iconic “double W” symbol – in the same way it would make sense for there to be a front shot of Batman to show the iconic bat symbol. But then again, Batman isn’t a woman so the sexist double standard doesn’t apply.
>>Please enlighten us all and explain how exactly they could pose her in that outfit so as not to offend your delicate sensibilities “honeybunch”.
I’m sure you could think of at least a dozen different ways if you put your mind to it and stopped masturbing to Supergirl comics.
July 8th, 2008 at 11:10 pm
I think it’s a poor choice to show her from behind because you’re covering her chest plate/icon.
But I dig the Greek nose. Way, cooler than a manga carrot nose.
July 9th, 2008 at 11:52 am
I too like the nose, but am a bit disappointed in her chin and in her lack of curviness. I think its pretty important for WW to be a woman, curves and all- Marsden(her creator IIRC) really wanted her to be a hero for girls, and i think having a WW who is overly masculine is counter to that aim.

Stephen –
I only masturbate to Marvel Comics.
