Justice League to return to Smallville

July 2nd, 2008
Author JK Parkin

Smallville ended its last season with Lex and Clark locked in battle inside a crumbling Fortress of Solitude. When the new season starts this fall, Clark is missing — and his buddy Oliver Queen puts the band back together to find him.

According to TV Guide, Oliver Queen, played by Justin Hartley, will “start this new chapter by gathering Aquaman and Black Canary to rescue Clark. Alan Ritchson and Alaina Huffman will reprise their roles, as will Phil Morris, whose Martian Manhunter also appears in the opener, titled ‘Odyssey.’” It’s a slightly different line-up, as the last time we saw Queen’s League it included Cyborg and Impulse.

More details on the upcoming season can be found at the link.

Other superheroes are always the highlight of this series. I loved the last League, can’t wait for this one!

The highlight of this series are episodes which actually focus on the character of Clark Kent! No many of those the last couple of seasons.

Introducing more characters, both new and from the Superman universe is not a good idea: This series [originally] was about the journey of Clark Kent on his way of becoming Superman and such. But in this series we’ve already seen Luthor, Lois, Jimmy, Perry, the Planet, Aquaman, Green Arrow, Cyborg, Impulse… many there for no reasons, others to “help” Clark find his way as a hero, though at the end of the episode he goes back to his farm, accomplishing nothing in retrospect.
