Also coming out of the State of the industry panel at HeroesCon, Van Jensen at ComicMix reports that Mark Waid revealed John Byrne will write the previously announced Farscape comic for BOOM!
I put a question mark in the headline because of the way Jensen phrased it in his report:
Mark Waid, with an elbow from Larsen, revealed that John Byrne will be writing the Farscape book for Boom! Studios.
I’m wondering if the elbow from Larsen means that maybe Waid was kidding? And if he wasn’t, does this means Mark Waid is unbanned from the Byrne Forum?

I coulda sworn that I’d read Rockne S. O’Bannon himself was writing the series, or at least supervising it.

He’s doing the webisodes for Sci Fi, which were mentioned in BOOM!’s original press release, but I don’t think they ever confirmed he was working on the comic series.

As much fun as it would be to let this one stand until it corrects itself, it was a joke. It wasn’t even my joke; it was Erik Larsen’s. And every minute of my time it takes to quash these rumors takes my attention away from my upcoming Savage Dragon script, so knock it off.

As a longtime Scaper and part-time comics fan I’ll say this… if Rockne isn’t involved in at least some way I’ll be very very disappointed.
Oh and thanks for quashing that rumor about Byrne. I nearly had a heart-attack reading that headline at first. I don’t want that cranky old man anywhere NEAR my Farscape thank you very much.
