Iron Man rockets past $300 million mark

Iron Man

Iron Man is expected sometime today to become the first film this year to gross $300 million domestically.

The movie has grossed $250 million internationally, for a worldwide haul of more than $550 million. And it still hasn’t opened in Japan (that comes in September).

It took Spider-Man 3 just 23 days to reach the $300 million mark back in 2007. Iron Man was a little slower, requiring 51 days.

Why the fourth-month delay in releasing ‘Iron Man’ in Japan? That just seems silly.

  2. U_no Says:

I’m still worried about the sequel.

  3. Scott Says:

To be fair Spider-Man 3 had a much wider initial release then Iron Man. I remember seeing it in Seoul, South Korea three days before it released in North America. With the state of the economy and a slightly lesser known character, this movie has doen phenomenal.

Q: Why did we never see that Batman Beyond movie?

A: Warner Bros. didn’t want to do it.

Oh, ok. Glad we got that figured out. Although to this day I will sometimes call Batman Begins “Batman Beyond” without thinking.

really too bad marvel had to give up the rights to the x-men so they could make enough money to start marvel studios. wolverine in world war 2 (which is what the lates pics look like) is the perfect & coolest place to have a cap cameo. wolvie in WW2 will probly be as cool.

I think the four month delay in the Japanese and most likely the rest of Asia is due to the fact the Movie needs to be dubbed :P

  8. HartyPotter Says:

what in the world is the hold-up with the release in Japan? By the time it gets there, half of the kids are going to have downloaded it.
