Sorry, Ken, but you are wrong on this one. I am a customer of this site. So are you, and anybody else who reads these pages. Newsarama and Blog@ both are here because there is money to be made selling ad materials. If not for the ads, it would be financially impossible for the average person to own a site like this.

Reading this site is like watching television, in that the ads that run here allow us to get the site content for free.

And I stand by my comments about there shouldn’t have to be a separate thread for Firefox problems. I was just stating my viewpoint, though some may think I was being curt.

Yes, but for sadly boring reasons – I had a crush of work, and something had to give, it just turned out to be Blog@ (It’s also why I’ve not been over at Savage Critics so much recently). There’s every possibility I’ll be back at ‘Rama in one way or another in the future, though (Sorry, all)… I would’ve done a farewell post, but that seemed a bit pretentious and unnecessary, to be honest. Trust me, I wish that I could pretend that Matt and I had had a tiff or something, but he and JK were amazingly understanding about me bailing with so little notice.

It’s actually weird and great to read Blog@ from the outside, as it were – Entirely unbiasedly (which may or may not be a word), the team here put together one of the (if not THE) best online comic news sites, and it’s nice to be a straight-up fan and not feel like I’m lowering the tone every time I post.

Still, if nothing else, I’m sure Dan Slott’s happier with the site now.

Books hurt my eyes, too. That is why I am illiterate.

I am on dial up, as is roughly 40% of the US. The site now loads much slower than before.

Yesterday, I tried to open a couple links at the main site for comments about problems, but it took too long. But I did notice that one of the topics there was ‘Firefox problems’. There shouldn’t be any Firefox problems. There shouldn’t be ANY specific browser problems. The programmers should have opened all the pages with multiple browsers to find the problems before we, the customer, did. Just too many people today are using browsers other than Windows IE. Other browsers are usually faster, and easier to use than IE.

I don’t think I haven’t seen a post from him since May..

Any chance we could get a less stark – less antiseptic colored blog than white?

Besides that, for the moment Blog@ seems much the same in content (I hope) and even if I give up on the front page of Newsarama, this blog will remain bookmarked.

Of course, as I type this I have awful memories of spending the first part of my mornings a couple of days a week deleting obvious spam that had somehow slipped through.

But actually, yeah, that would be an improvement over what it is doing now, which seems to be blocking just about everybody every time.
