Well, I for one am glad. The man doesn’t have any idea how to write the Batman related family. His Nightwing is pathetic, his Robin acts like he has any right at all to lecture Spoiler on what to do with HER child, his Spoiler lets herself be pushed around by Batman and Robin…and his Batman is a fucking lunatic.

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out, Dixon. And this time? Stay gone.

I really liked Dixon’s work at DC BEFORE he left for Crossgen but frankly his work since returning has been rather pedestrian.

I wonder if he had trouble with the current editorial team and not being the “go to” writer for DC anymore.

Seems that BaTO has been problematic since they launched it…maybe they should just scrub it and start from scratch.

I don’t see it as a failure of Blog@ at all: I see it as a failure of Newsarama main. They frequently post press releases for goodness sake as “articles” so a breaking news item of this importance doesn’t seem unwarranted. At the very least, they should have made this an item on the main page saying that Blog@ “broke” the story on the site and that Newsarama Central is working on getting more info on the story. A win-win for both divisions as it informs the fans prominently and brings attention to Blog@.

No, it should have been on the front page. Even if there isn´t much to report about, in this case the announcement is news itself.

Frankly Newsrama is changing too much into a media site where comics related movie and tv stuff suddenly seems to be much more important than the comics itself. Maybe that is not the intention (maybe it is just a slow news-week), but at least it is the impression it gives. And this is sad.

C’mon, folks. This was an announcement made via Dixon’s message board. For it to be a front page article, you’d have to have gotten responses from some people to talk about it. I’m fairly certain that there are people working on getting such responses and whether that info is posted here or as an article, there’ll likely be a front page link for it when that happenss.

I know people are frustrated with the changes and all, but you’re seeing a failure here where there is none.

Dixon’s initial run on Robin is what got me into comics. To see such a great writer go out with a whimper and not a bang is shocking. Alan Moore he wasn’t, but he knew how to write a good Batman-and-friends story. I have to wonder if he broke up with DC or DC broke up with him.

When I see DiDio at B-More Comic-Con I’m going to take him to task on this. This is just terrible management — from announcing McKeever as the new BOP writer, and then retracting. The same thing with Batman and the Outsiders. We get — what — five issues of Robin from Dixon. You’ve got Grant Morrison basically telling DiDio, “Screw Countdown — I’m gonna do what I want on Final Crisis.” What the hell is going on in those offices? It seems that Marvel employees treat each other like a Dysfunctional family, but DC employees treat each other like total strangers or with disrespect.
