British Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s turn as action hero in the first issue of Captain Britain and MI: 13 draws the attention of the Scottish Sunday Mail.
In the issue, which spins out of Marvel’s big Secret Invasion summer event, Brown tells U.K. superheroes and secret agents about the alien threat, and tackles three Skrulls disguised as Cabinet members.
“I’m quite a fan of Gordon Brown,” writer Paul Cornell tells the newspaper. “I’m pleased we’ve given him a PR boost on both sides of the Atlantic and around the world. I feel quite sorry for him, so I’m glad I’ve contributed a bit.”
Downing Street wouldn’t comment on the cameo.
Update: The Daily Mail has a more extensive coverage, with pages from the comic.

David Cameron definitely isn’t human. He’s far too shiny.
