At Seven Impossible Things Before Breakfast, children’s novelist David Almond talks about, among other things, The Savage, his “part novel, part graphic novel” collaboration with illustrator Dave McKean.
“I’d always envisaged it as an illustrated book,” Almond says. “When I finished writing, I thought, Oh, the perfect collaborator would be Dave McKean. Fortunately, Dave loved the story, and his art work is just wonderful.”
The Savage is already out in the U.K. It will be released in the United States in October.
