Cool things to look at: ‘Comics on Comics’

May 8th, 2008
Author Chris Mautner

Blair Marnell emailed me the other day to let me know of Comics on Comics, a West Coast video blog where three comedians and one comic book creator get together and talk about sequential art — sorta like the NYC-based Comic Book Club, or Politically Incorrect.
Their first episode, featuring Brian Lynch (Angel: After the Fall, Everyone’s Dead) and comedians Chris Mancini, Ken Cosby and Pat Evans, was taped yesterday and should be up online now. The group was also at the Image founders signing in Arizona last weekend and plan to put the footage of that up by the end of the week.

The Comics on Comics guys are the best.

They interviewed our artist, Sacha, for their 1/2 test run episode.

    Top notch.

    Hey Chris,

    Thanks for the spotlight!

The first episode was taped last night and we’ll have it up on Monday on our website and on iTunes.

I believe our Todd McFarlane interview will go up today, to be followed by our Rob Liefeld interview. We have a LOT of footage from the Image founders signing, so it’s going to take some time to finish editing all of that. But it’s coming…

Also, I’d like to point out the main difference in format between CoC and Comic Book Club is that our roster of comedians changes every episode. So I think we have more in common with PI than Comic Book Club.

And finally… our next episode will be May 21 at The Comic Bug in Manhattan Beach. Guests and times to be announced…

    Thanks again!
