Marvel Animation is breaking out its top characters for Marvel Super Hero Squad, a new “super stylized” animated series geared toward 6- to 8-year-olds. The show is expected to debut in fall 2009.
It’s unclear what “super stylized” means.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 26 half-hour episodes will feature such characters as Wolverine, Iron Man, the Hulk, Captain America, Thor and Fantastic Four in “humorous adventures” as they battle the likes of Doctor Doom, Magneto and Loki.
Marvel already has two cartoons set to debut next year on Nicktoons: Wolverine and the X-Men – you can see the new trailer here — and Iron Man: Armored Adventures.
Film Roman will provide production services for Marvel Super Hero Squad.

I’m thinking that “super stylized” and “geared toward 6- to 8-year-olds” adds up to something like Tiny Titans.
Put Chris Giarrusso in charge the name to Mini Marvels. I’d watch that show.

“Super-stylized” means “likely to upset the baby men a la BRAVE AND THE BOLD”.

I imagine that “super-stylized” means something like the “Marvel Super Hero Squad” toys that Hasbro is already putting out:

But how will this appeal to me, the jaded fan in his late 20’s who has been reading comics since the 90’s? Can a show for children possibly be grim and gritty enough to satisfy me?

I’m shocked that there are that many comic fans who are clueless to the Super Hero Squad line of Marvel toys and that they’ve been wondering aloud what this cartoon could be.

I’m 31, and I love those toys. I love the smiling Punisher. He’s so cute for a mass murderer.
My 4 year old nephew loves them too, but probably not as much as I do.

Super stylized means super deformed.
I wonder if Marvel will ever get the animation side of things going in the write direction?
