coolness.
I was 1/2way thru Anansi before I realized the brothers were black! (and, yes, I know Anansi is an AFRICAN myth, but Thor was always a REDhead, not Blond!)

I could see a cast with: Mos Def, Andre '3000' Benjamin, and Keith David, maybe Rosario and Freema as the girls?
(and I know who should be the old neighbor lady, but I don't know her name!)

Just keep Will and Eddie FAR AWAY! and we'll be fine.

This was my favorite of his novels and I'm so glad they're making this one before American Gods because the story is much more adaptable!

Hopefully better than most of those King books have been adapted, Nick. I guess I could see HBO doing it.

You know, AG might be too lengthy for a movie, but would it be impossible to adapt it to a mini-series? Similar to how a lot of Stephen King books have been adapted as such?

I am excited about the possibility of a decent Neverwhere movie. That's pretty much my favorite book of all time.

Yeah, Anansi Boys isn't a sequel per se, but sort of a companion piece to AG? Anansi Boys is more humorous, but both are excellent books.

I agree that trying to make AG into a satisfying film would difficult, perhaps impossible, but I figured that wouldn't stop someone from trying someday.

Good Omens... Good Idea!

I'd call Anansi Boys an "equal" to American Gods. Same root concept, very different take. Less about gods and religion and more about family and relationships.

American Gods would be a tough movie to make, just because there is so much going on in it. AB is sort of a sequel...basically the same world of sorts.

They really need to make a movie of Good Omens...that would be really fun if done right.

I'm looking forward to it too... I hope Anansi Boys will succeed.

Has there been any talk of turning American Gods into a movie? That's actually my favorite of his novels.
