New Dark Knight poster revealed

April 25th, 2008
Author Kevin Melrose

A new poster for Batman: The Dark Knight has been released through the WhySoSerious.com viral-marketing site.

The site contains a note that reads “Four days,” could mean that’s when we’ll see the next trailer. At least that’s what the folks at ComingSoon.net speculate.

    is batman some sorta terrorist

  3. Shaun Says:

Some elsewhere have suggested that it too closely invokes 9/11. I didn’t think of it, but I guess I can see it. I doubt that’s intended. It sure does suggest a sense of terror and dread though!

  4. Adam D. Kline Says:

Every building fire from this point on is going to remind people of 9/11?

People are freakin’ oversensitive to the point of mental trauma…

  5. Skyhawk Says:

Buildings have on fire before and after 9/11. Doesn’t being afraid get boring after awhile?

  6. Joshua Says:

People just aren’t happy if they don’t have something to bitch about, even if it’s something completely innocuous like a movie poster.

  7. DB Says:

If the movie is half as awesome as this poster I’ll be happy . Its like Batman took over the Pyromania album cover.

  8. Daniel Says:

I can’t wait for this to come out. :D

  9. super nintendo chalmers Says:

I love this poster & can’t wait till the movie comes out!! But, I wanna see a new trailer…NOW! I agree about the 9/11 angle, that’s lame. Building have caught fire since they were built. This movie is gonna be great!

In case anyone misunderstood, I didn’t say *I* agreed with the 9/11 angle… I’ve just read others making that claim at other forums (most notably, the always-good-for-a-few-laughs AICN. See for yourself if you like). Again, I don’t think it was intended. I agree that living in fear all this time, or claiming explotiation over anything that reminds you of it, is ludicrous.

It’s just a damned sweet poster that does invoke a general sense of terror and danger. Nothing tied to a specific real-life event. Now when are we getting that new trailer?

    That’s horrible.
