which, as Don MacPherson points out, was recently homaged on — you guessed it — Marvel’s Incredible Herc:
Y’know, the title that replaced Incredible Hulk. It’s all one big cycle …

Don’t forget the first issue of Bruce Jones run-
#34’s “Return of the Monster” cover was a clear hommage to the same Steranko cover.

Marvel should just reprint the original Steranko cover without the face redrawn by John Romita this time (because way back when they thought Steranko’s Hulk looked too scary).

The Grand Comics Database notes that it was Marie Severin who redrew the Hulk’s face for that classic cover.
