This book looks interesting.

– Cartoon Brew lists Disney and Pixar films coming out between now and 2012. Cars 2 comes out in 2012, meaning my nephew who went crazy over the first one will be a teenager when it comes out.

When Archie switched genders.

Brian Wood says though nothing is official, an oversized Local hardcover could be out this summer, followed by a trade in September.

– The Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC presents Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy starting May 7, featuring movie costumes, “avant-garde haute couture, and high-performance sportswear.”

– Speaking of events, Dan Dare takes over the Science Museum in London beginning April 29.

– Todd Klein looks at DC’s fanzine from the 1970s, The Amazing World of DC Comics.

    Cars, perhaps the least loved Pixar movie (OK, that’s arguable… But still), gets a sequel? Huh.

    I’d sure love to see The Incredibles 2, and it seems like the Pixar movie with the most sequel potential, but it looks like we wouldn’t get that until 2013 at the earliest. Ugh.

    Even if there really is that much demand for Cars 2 (and I think the biggest reason it’s being made is for toys and other merchandising), 2012 is a long time to wait. Will anyone care by then? Oh well, at least Toy Story 3 is coming before that! I’m eagerly awaiting that one.

    I’m hoping that Wall*E, Up, and that fairy tale are good too. Still, it seems like the charm of the earlier Pixar offerings just isn’t there these days (although Ratatouille was surprisngly good). Perhaps Toy Story 3 is attempt to recapture that early magic?

    I may be the only one here, but it just occurred to me… What happened to Pixar’s announced “John Carter of Mars” project?
