Once upon a time Marvel published a New Mutants spin-off mini-series called Fallen Angels. IIRC, Sunspot got pissed off at Cannonball or upset over Magnum being canceled or accidentally killed one of his New Mutant teammates — i.e. something happened — and he ran away from home. Warlock followed. Soon the two of them hooked up with a group of misfits (which I think was also the original title) that included Vanisher, Madrox, Devil Dinosaur and a kid who had two pet mutant lobsters. And it was actually better than it sounds.
There was supposed to be a follow-up, drawn by Colleen Doran (Kerry Gammill drew the first one), but it never surfaced … and now Colleen shares some of the “lost art” from the series on her blog:
