Stan Lee lines up three films with Disney

Stan Lee

Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment and Walt Disney Pictures have settled on three films, all based on stories by Lee, as part of their first-look deal announced last June.

Nick Ratchet, written and directed by Richard LaGravenese, centers on the exploits of a private investigator. According to ICv2.com, Gerard Butler is set to play the title character.

Tigress (working title), written by Zoe Green, follows a woman who develops tiger-like instincts.

Even less information is available for the third film, Blaze, written by Gary Goldman.

Benderspink nabs vampire-zombie comic Last Blood

Benderspink is adding another comic-book project to its development slate: Last Blood, based on the Blatant Comics title by brothers Bobby and Chris Crosby.

The comic follows a band of vampires that protects Earth’s last humans after a zombie apocalypse.

Benderspink also has set up adaptations of Power and Glory, Y: The Last Man and The Ghouly Boys, among others.

It’s Scott Pilgrim’s World

Forget that earlier report: The Scott Pilgrim adaptation won’t be named Scott Pilgrim’s Little Life. Bryan Lee O’Malley confirms the movie is called Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. The IMDB entry has been changed to reflect that.

You were had on the Last Blood movie deal. Check the link again. It was an April Fool’s joke.

  2. Kevin Melrose Says:

Pardon? There’s nothing about the Variety story that indicates an April Fool’s joke. (It wouldn’t be a very good joke, in any case.)

  3. Kevin Melrose Says:

Ahhhh … You were had by the joke on the Blatant Comics website. The story’s legitimate.
