The Awesome List: Indy TV ad, Tikiware, John Hughes, Paleo-Future, and Calling All Robots

I apologize for not posting this earlier in the day. I’m planning a trip to Haiti and have been busy making sure I have enough zombie repellent.

Indy TV ad

Something’s wrong here, because the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull TV ad is even better than the theatrical trailer.

Tikiware

You do like the Tiki, don’t you? Tell me you like the Tiki. Because if you do, a) we can be friends, and b) illustrator/designer Kevin Kidney is going to make you very happy.

Don’t you forget about him

I think I’ve mentioned before that Catwoman writer Will Pfeifer is a movie critic by day. In Friday’s column he has sort of a where-is-he-now look at John Hughes and makes some recommendations for Hughes sequels he’d like to see. I’ve been wanting that Breakfast Club sequel since about three minutes after I saw the first one.

Paleo-Future

Cool blog find: “A look into the future that never was.”

Calling All Robots

I don’t at all care for the look of Robert Zemeckis’ motion-capture films. Which makes it even more heartbreaking that he’s using it on a something as cool as a giant robot movie.

I don’t know that the Indy TV spot is better than the trailer… It’s pretty much all the same stuff that’s in the trailer! Not seeing a whole lot of difference, at least nothing significant. I was hoping for a lot more.

I don’t know if it’s the dialogue or the way it’s cut or what, but I got chills watching it that I didn’t get with the trailer.
