Marvel B0y is still around, apparently:
Well “True Believers,” the drama continues! After my LJ blog got taken down on Saturday, I thought for sure I was walking into an ambush this morning. But as you can see, I live! I thought the man was on to me but apparently, they still have no clue. I clocked in, fired up the computer, and all my files were still there. No security to escort me, no being called in to Bogart’s office and definitely no ten people who already knew who I was. And the best part is that everyone thinks I was caught. Anyone that called in sick or who took off is now assumed to be me. Priceless. All morning a group of editorial sleuths thought it was JG until someone finally told them that he sent an email saying he was sick. This is the best reality tv I’ve watched in months.
The question is, is it the real Marvel B0y?
(Thanks, Jeff.)

For the first time ever, I’ve finally clicked on a “Marvel Boy” link… This is hilarious. It could all be a hoax, but I hope it isn’t, and I hope this guy never get caught. Very entertaining!

The only spoiler left uncovered is how many months late the last issue will be.

So, is Marvel saying that Cage started as a superhero in the 70’s, making him around 50 years old? Same for Ms. Marvel and White Queen? No big deal to me, but it just seems odd.
Anyway, it sounds rather silly to me. And not good-silly.

I can’t imagine anyone would bother recreating the guy’s site. On the other hand … based on the post today, it could just be someone who got their subscription copy of Wizard on Monday instead of Wednesday (which is not all that unusual…).

Will this guy just die already? It’s like a joke you’d see on Family Guy gone horribly wrong. What kind of company can’t trace the antics of THIS type of jackass?

I wonder if the new images are the same format with the same metadata as the prior JPG images.

…this is the best writing to come out of the marvel offices in a long time. ^__^

Ha. I have to agree. Most interesting PR Marvel’s had in quite some time, and they have no idea where it’s coming from.

I am Marvel_b0y!

IT’S A TRAP!!!
I had a “ghost of Jack Kirby” joke but it seemed a bit tasteless considering…
Honestly, if it is a Marvel PR stunt they’re going about it all wrong. They should have started this guy posting last summer with little less significant “spoilers” to build some credibility (think Rich Johnston without the arrogant cockiness). That way when he starts “leaking” Secret Invasion spoilers folks will be more likely to believe him whether its legit or not.
But then this IS the same company that said “no magic” when it came to the unmasking so what can you expect really.

Maybe they are starting it early and building up. This is the same company that takes 11 months to publish a 6 issue mini-series.

I just read Marvel_b0y’s blog and it is obviously fake. A skrull has invaded Marvel HQ and nobody there knows who it is. It’s PR, get it? A lame attempt at viral marketing for “Secret Invasion”. How clever….NOT!
Clue #1: The blogger’s first day is 11-02-07 yet he says he’s been there awhile, but yet marvels at suddenly being involved in the creative process….then he bitches about all he does is…wait for it….makes copies.
Clue #2: The blogger appears to be extremely critical of Marvel, but if you read close enough, they are good natured jokes about Bendis (wink wink) and Brubaker (nudge nudge) and he only seems to praise Marvel books, never really criticize any books directly.
Clue #3: The blogger has a rather satirical, over the top view of bloggers. This is not a blogger so much as a person blogging in a manner in which they think a blogger would blog.
Clue #4: Despite the fact that this guy/gal has dropped so many clues about his/her identity to his/her employers, Marvel would have to be pretty dopey not to figure out who it is. He (since his/her moniker is Marvel BOY, I’ll refer to him as a he) goes home over Christmas eve and is the only one working the next week while everyone else has off because he….here it comes….has to make copies.
Are we laughing yet?
Clue #5: The person writing this blog is an idiot and obviously full of shit. He claims that the reason he doesn’t blog very often is because…”Bloggers are by nature quite dishonest.” Oh yeah, he qualifies that by limiting it to only the ones he’s met.
Clue #6: They sure make a lot of copies at Marvel. No one apparently has a computer or printer. Marvel must have only one copier since the guy is ALWAYS making copies. (Pssst, hey Marvel…check out the dude making copies)
Clue #7: Marvel has a “little” thing called “Secret Invasion” coming up that they would like everyone to know about.
Clue #8: Instead of a skinny guy falling on ice outside of Midtown Comics, Marvel Boy wishes it were his boss Joe Q. Get it? He hates his boss. Okay, you can all laugh now.
Okay, enough. We get it. This is beyond dumb.
It is beyond dumb, because if Marvel had actually hired someone as stupid, banal, and immature as this blogger would appear to be, and couldn’t identify him despite the fact that all they would have to do is look for a drooling, slack-jawed mouth breather, then Marvel is being run by a bunch of jackasses.
Oh, wait a minute….they are.
And on the outside chance

Oh. My. God. Robert is Marvel B0y!
