Comments on: Can’t Wait for Wednesday

I think it’s only 3 1/2 months since the last Gargoyles, but the last time there was a long delay, Greg Weisman told the fan collective that the comic was stuck sitting on some Disney exec’s desk, waiting for approval. I suspect this happened again, and will continue to happen. Which is a shame since this comic is really quite good but can’t really build momentum. (At least I can tell you what happened last issue. I can’t do that with Runaways or All-Star Superman.)

In addition to Gargs and All-Star Supes, I am getting two books that are still on probation, Teen Titans and The Spirit. The current run on TT has been readable, but it feels like there’s not much new here, and the small cast of fairly minor heroes (aside from Robin and Wonder Girl) needs some help. (Why do we need a separate Titans book?)

The first issue of the Aragones/Evanier Spirit was cute but a letdown after the Cooke run, and while I much prefer lighthearted and lightweight to dour and depressing, I didn’t see much that isn’t old hat in that one issue.

Tucker — where have you seen copies? I got mine from D&Q yesterday but I haven’t seen any sign of in book stores or comic shops.

I think the big news this week has to be [i]Blue Beetle[/i] #25, as the triumphant second-year-arc of one of the best comics out there comes to a close.

Hey, I’m just glad that SLG is finally putting out Gargoyles #8. My wife’s been on me for months wondering when the next issue would hit. Now that she’s posting here regularly, I wonder if we can get some answers from Jennifer as to why such a massive six month delay…
