MURDER MOON was due out next week. I only found out Monday night that it was coming out this Wed. Not my plan, I assure you.

Top of my list for this week? SANDMAN MYSTERY THEATRE v. 6, naturally. I sure hope DC goes all the way with these.

I'm literally beyond excited at the arrival of the new Killing Joke HC, it's been no secret that Brian Bolland was originally mean to be given the opportunity to colour his own work on this classic, but due to time constraints that task was given to John Higgins who I still felt did a tremendous job but as Brian mentioned in his book "The Art of Brian Bolland", it wasn't how he'd visuallised it personally. This is the equivalent of a classic movie restoration, handing it over to one of the original creators and allowing it to be seen as they had originally intended, and I for one will be bagging the first one straight out of the boxes when we crack them open tomorrow. 8¬)

So excited? Just a little. 8¬)

It's foolish of me, proud owner of a 1st printing of The Killing Joke, to actually be thinking about buying the new hardcover. Is the bonus story included any good? If so, that'll be my justification for buying it. :-)

I don't care that some people think the story hasn't aged well, or that was it was too violent, or any of the other criticisms of TKJ. It was, and still is, a classic that should never have gone out of print in the first place.

It's a book that had a truly shocking turn of events that, perhaps even more shockingly, stayed in canon without being retconned away these past 20 years. I miss Babs as Batgirl, but I think I'd miss Babs as Oracle even more if that was ever undone.

I really need to pick up The Man Who Laughs (a book I missed the first time around) first, but I'll pick up the "new" TKJ eventually.
