ICAF makes move to windy city

Thought Balloonists blogger Charles Hatfield is reporting that the International Comic Arts Forum, or ICAF as it is more widely known, is moving from its current annual home in the D.C. area to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. The conference will be held October 9-11. The deadline to submit proposals is May 1. You can read the call for papers by clicking on that second link.

Those who attended SPX in the heady days of the 1990s will remember ICAF as being held in conjunction with the Expo, providing the Bethesda show with a good deal of much needed programming. It remains an important academic event (as well as a great opportunity to meet significant cartoonists from far-away countries) but hasn’t had anything to do with the Expo for quite some time.
