Wondering what happened to your entry to Marvel talent contest, Chesterquest? CB Cebulski wants you to know that, in this case, no news is good news:
[N]ot everyone has been contacted yet. So far, only rejection letters have been sent out. If you did receive one, thank you for entering and I wish you the best of luck on your upcoming endeavors. But please do not keep submitting samples.
Now, as for the 12 ChesterQuest artists that Marvel will be hiring, they have not been decided upon yet. We narrowed the enormous talent pool down to about 50 “semi-finalists” if you will, and have since gotten it down to about 30. We will be reviewing all these portfolios carefully again and be contacting the artists we select in the next two weeks.
The good news is we’ll be hiring more than just the 12 artists we originally planned to. The Marvel editors were so impressed with the quailty of so much the work we received that several more artists than expected will be getting penciling gigs.
All finalists names will be announced at New York Comic Con on April 19th.

So Marvel is going to hire a bunch of new artists.
Handwriting on the wall time for many of the present artists. They will soon find themselves out of work.
