A 10-year-old boy from Everett, Wash., died Monday, two days after friends buried him in a sandbox in an attempt to mimic something he’d seen on Naruto.
The family of Codey Porter say the anime series gave him the idea to be buried head-first on Saturday. When the fifth-grader began thrashing around his friends at first thought he was joking. When they realized something was wrong, they yelled for help.
Adults from inside the Porter home administered CPR until and ambulance could arrive. Codey was later flown to Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle, where he died Monday.
The Seattle Post-Intelligencer points out there’s a long history of children imitating TV shows, pointing to reports in the 1950s of boys jumping off rooftops while pretending to be Superman.

What is up with kids do dumb things like this? I’ve been watching all kind of cartoons for the past 21 yrs of my live, yet I knew the line between real and pretend.

I agree with you. It make ask yourself is it really tv or the parent to blame, and I think you mean 2 say “past 21 yrs of my life”.
