That skull looks pretty extraterrestrial-ish.

Wouldn’t be a surprise, Chris, since there’s box clearly labeled “Roswell” in the film’s trailer.
Nice looking poster! Is Karen Allen still looking that hot? Wow… Sucks we have to wait more than two months for this. I’m looking forward to this almost as much The Dark Knight. I just hope it can live up to nearly two decades of expectations.

Now that’s a poster.

I can’t be sure, but I think the dude with the giant hat on the left is the lead singer of the Fabulous Thunderbirds

LMAO, Skeletor, that’s hilarious! I was too busy looking at Karen Allen to notice.
Ain’t that tuff enuff? LOL…

Is Sallah or Marcus coming back for Indy4?

Thank god for Indiana Jones films.
At least we’re assured of one movie poster this year to consist of artwork rather than a photograph.

“Is Sallah or Marcus coming back for Indy4?”
Since Denholm Elliott is dead and I don’t see Spielberg recasting him, then I’d say no Marcus (I think there’s a scene with his photograph in the background and someone makes mention of him in this film though).
Comment by Richard J. Marcej — March 10, 2008 @ 3:14 pm
thanks Richard, I didn’t know that the actor who played Marcus had died.
will there by any mention of Henry Jones Sr. (Sean Connery)?

It would’ve been cooler if the alien skull was like E.T.’s or one of the CE3K aliens…

Yeah… I hadn’t even thought of Sallah. Where is he?
I’d heard John Rhys-Davies isn’t in the best of health these days, but that was back during the time of the LOTR movies. He seemed to pull off the role of Gimli reasonably well.
I certainly hope he’s doing well, but if he is then he oughta be in this movie!
Comment by Shaun — March 10, 2008 @ 5:09 pm
Wow. I want one.

Sallah won’t be in it. Love that poster!!
Comment by chris b. — March 10, 2008 @ 10:33 pm
I figured as much, Chris, but I’m wondering WHY Sallah’s not in it. I realize the story might not come anywhere near Sallah’s part of the world, but still… Beloved character and all. Again, I hope Mr. Rhys-Davies is doing well.

“I’d heard John Rhys-Davies isn’t in the best of health these days, but that was back during the time of the LOTR movies. He seemed to pull off the role of Gimli reasonably well.”
And this is how rumours get started. John is in fine health for a man his age. The reason he wasn’t feeling well during LOTR is because he was having an allergic reaction to the prosthetics on his face. But that was YEARS ago.
As much as I’d like to see “Sallah”, Ray Winstone’s character I’m sure will be a fine replacement.

Hey Dave, now that you say that about the prosthetics that seems to ring a bell with me… I wasn’t trying to start anything up — which is why I added that what I’d heard was a number of years back — but couple that with Sallah’s absence from the movie and made me curious. I’m sure I’m not alone.
It’s entirely likely the story doesn’t require Sallah. It’s just that he’s a beloved character that I’m sure just about any Indy fan would want to see one more time. If JR-D were willing to do the movie, I’d have come up with a way to include him.
Nothing is too ridiculous, not after midichlorians.

First time I saw the guy in the droopy hat I kind of thought it might have been Remy Baudouin.

I wonder if the Indiana Jones character is “the one that got away” for Tom Selleck…
