Audi's "Iron Man" micro-site

Today German automaker Audi launched its sleek Iron Man micro-site as part of its cross-promotional deal with Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios.

The agreement, announced in July, calls for Tony Stark to drive the $108,000 Audi R8 supercar. Other Audi cars also appear in the movie.

On the micro-site, visitors can tour Stark’s workshop, and, of course, explore design details of the Audi R8 and A5. There’s also historical information on the Iron Man comic books and the automaker.

The full press release can be found here.

I don’t think he can fit in that.

    No dude.
He doesn’t ride in it, he transforms into it.

    This movie is gonna rock!

  3. Zac Goyette Says:

They should race. Maybe the Audi turns into War Machine. Can’t wait for this movie.

  4. Rich Says:

I might buy an Audi with retractable gun turrets.

  5. r Says:

Unless Audi plans to make a suit i can fly in, I could care less about the company’s relationship to the movie.

I did a survey once where they asked me about a car used in an X-Men movie, where Mags ripped the bridge in the air. It’s amazing anyone in PR thinks someone thinks “Hey, I saw that car for two seconds in the background scenery of a comic movie! Want!”

  7. Komikfan Says:

Whatever. There’s no way the product placement here can be any worse than Ford’s shameless commandeering of “I Am Legend.” Sure the Shelby Mustang looked nice, but are we really supposed to believe that the last vehicles on planet earth were all Fords?

And you know what, they’re actually being faithful to the comic book, believe it or not. Check out Warren Ellis and Adi Granov’s “Extremis” storyline. Stark is delivered to the airport in an AUDI. I kid you not. ‘course, it wasn’t an R8, but probably only because they weren’t around yet then.
