Following on from Tom Brevoort’s recent focus group blogging, now the Spider-Office is asking for your advice on what they should be doing:
Who do you want to see?
Which comic book artist would YOU, the reader, love to see take on the Peter Parker? You’ve got a message board – start your talkin’!
(see, doesn’t it feel good to use a message board to do something besides call for our heads?)
Some good suggestions so far: Paul Pope, Niko Henrichson, Becky Cloonan…

Not that I’d shoot down Paul Pope, but he already did some TANGLED WEB stuff a couple years back.
Tara McPherson on a Spidey/Mysterio story could be promising, however.

Won’t matter to me one bit who they get if the BND reboot remains in place. I know, I know… Get over it already. I’m just saying, they could Alex Ross to do painted covers and interiors for every issue of ASM and I wouldn’t go near it. Well, I’d pick it and flip through it at the shop… But then I’d put back on the rack where I found it.

Please please please Marvel get the hint and make J. Scott Campbell to do interiors now.

Steve Ditko.

“Please please please Marvel get the hint and make J. Scott Campbell to do interiors now.”
IIRC he’s still working with Jeph Loeb on that Spider-Man project

I’ll echo Shaun. This really reeks of desperation. “We’re listening to you, the fans, and doing whatever you want, EXCEPT for undoing the editorial mandate that even Marvel and Quesada apologists have admitted is the biggest problem with ‘Brand New Day.’”

Thanks K-Box! Have a great weekend.

Carlos Pacheco. Salvador Larocca. Frank Quitely.

Larocca is one of the BND artists.

Pacheco would do a wonderful Spidey. As would Cameron Stewart. While they’re at it, why not reunite Slott with Juan Bobillo?

Schulz on Spider-Man?
Something that came to mind during the start of his latest stint with the Avengers: Spider-Man had slowly migrated from being the Charlie Brown of his superhero world to its Charles Schulz; He was now a man considered among those at the top of their game by many of his peers, much to his disbelief. I found that I liked that idea very much. The parallel, metaphor, analogy…it worked for me.
It still does.

Mind you, I still have too many problems with BND right now.

Charles Schulz had a stint on Avengers?
