The nominees have been announced for the third annual Glyph Comics Awards, which honor black comics and creators.
The winners will be announced at the May 16-17 East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention in Philadelphia.

Once again, Glyphs makes some excellent picks that show the diversity in the medium.
The big surprise was Jeremy Love getting the Best Artist nod. I didn’t know he had done any comic book work since Shadow Rock. (Great graphic novel BTW).
To heck with the tepid Oscars, Glyphs is the award program worth seeing.

Hmmmm…I guess the black characters in Welcome to Tranquility were enough to qualify Gail’s work on the series to get her nominated for Best Writer? I loved the series, but I’d have thought it was going to be for black creators. That surprised me.
