… has been removed from YouTube, alas.
Someone in the comments section asked what it was; basically it’s six animated shorts directed by Bruce Timm and written by folks like Brian Azzarello and David Goyer, among others. It’s set in the Batman Begins movie-verse, and bridges the gap between that film and the upcoming Dark Knight. Some more details can be found here.

So, this project is a lot like the Batman: Black and White stuff?

I was lucky enough to catch this via AICN this morning… Looks pretty damned sweet. I normally can’t stand anime (the faux-anime of Avatar: The Last Airbender is as close as I come), but I’m definitely going to pick this up. The preview was short on actual footage (It was more interviews with the Didio, Levitz, Timm and Denny O’Neill) but what little there was looked spectacular.
Six different vignettes, and confirmed as villains are Deadshot, Scarecrow and Killer Croc. Scarecrow didn’t look like he did in Batman Begins (though he didn’t look quite he usually does in the comics either), so I’m not sure how that will fit into the Nolan-verse.
This is definitely a more graphic, at least PG-13, style of animated Batman than we’ve ever seen before. Blood, etc. As long as the writing is good, this should be excellent. I just hope each story is given a proper length. I wish they’d bring Kevin Conroy back… Anyone know who’s voicing Bats?

Well, that’ll be one of the easiest pre-orders I’ll put down this year, from the video I can see the work of Kia Asamiya, Studio madhouse, production I.G, Studio 4c, IMDB has Bats voice talent listed as Christian Bale…writers also include folks like Alan Burnett and Greg Rucka, good grief, this is a powerhouse ensemble. Yeah, preordering this is a complete no-brainer, very excited about the concepts here.

They got Bale to do it?? Wow… OK, then I’m not so disappointed about Conroy not being involved (as I knew he wouldn’t be). That’s, obviously, nice consistency being that this project takes place in the Nolan-verse. Any chance they got Oldman and Caine too? Probably not, but that would be cool.
