Hopefully this’ll shut those Project: Girl Wonder jerks up then!

That’s a joke … right?

I’m sure my daughter will like it very very much….. when I have in about 10 years. In the meantime I will hold onto it for her.
BTW. Is this the first time DC (or Marvel) is doing this through something like this? As in not through their own line or an “Action Figure” company?

No, Mattel previously has released Barbie (and Ken) versions of Superman and Lois Lane (Superman Returns), Elektra, Supergirl, Catwoman, Poison Ivy, Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Harley Quinn and Invisible Woman.

There was also a Mary Jane in her wedding dress, and iirc a Black Cat Barbie too.

“There was also a Mary Jane in her wedding dress.”
No there wasn’t.

I used to work for a toy store, they’ve all ready done a Wonder Woman (and a Batgirl too, I think).
If you’re going to pick these up, be ready to pay collector prices. I think they ranged around 60 dollars, and that was six years ago.
(sidenote, please don’t be like the Barbie Collectors I had to deal with and demand to see every one the store has in stock so you can find the one with the PERFECT packaging, or when you cannot find a perfect one DEMAND you’re given a discount because the cardboard is slightly nicked, seriously. It’s lame)

Oh yeah!

That Supergirl doesn’t look whorishly anorexic at all! What the hell?! Godsdamn you Mattel, you’re raping my early 30′s!!!

If you had the creepy Wasting Disease Aunt May doll from about ten years back, you could make a little diorama – from Barbie’s baby “sister” to Sanatogen Barbie.
(Hrm. Note to self: Alternate Universe Barbie: “Barnie and Jen”)

GI Joe is going to have a great weekend.
Knock before entering my room, please.
“No sir! I did not see you playing with your dolls again, sir!”

Too bad they look like prostitutes.

I got most of the last wave for my kids – probably I’ll just get them BC this time. The WW, Batgirl, and Supergirl designs were better last time around. They used the animated Supergirl rather than the Turner version.

Actually, Canary in particular’s gotten some serious praise out of certain of the fangirl crowd. This announcement showed up as something of a pleasant surprise.
I haven’t checked the girl-wonder.org forums as yet, but now my curiosity’s been stoked.

If they ever release an Alan Moore doll, I’m there…

The two there look great, except for the high heels and obvious lack of muscle on the stick thin arms and legs. Black Canary and Batgirl are very athletic people, so where’s the muscle?

I think its great that Mattel has expanded into the comic scene. Now Id love to see more Marvel characters like Ms Marvel, Spider woman and Dazzler!
