The Connecticut Post Online is reporting that Al Scaduto’s gag strip “They’ll Do It Every Time” will come to a close on Feb. 2, with no one else taking over the strip after Scaduto’s death:
The panel’s current artist and writer, Al Scaduto, of Milford, died Dec. 8 at age 79. Its syndicate, King Features, has decided not to continue it with another artist. “They’ll Do It” poked fun at the dual nature of human behavior - such as the over-achieving high school student who is too lazy to take out the garbage, or the big cheese in the office who’s a henpecked husband at home. About 100 daily newspapers still carry the comic, including the Connecticut Post. It runs in the classifieds section.
