Y: The Last Man

–IESB.net talks to Shia LeBeouf about his new movie Eagle Eye, as well as Y The Last Man:

Q: And you might work with DJ again on Y: The Last Man?

LeBeouf: Yeah, we’ve been talking about it. Y: The Last Man’s cool. I don’t know when I would do that, though, or how I would fit that in. It would be kind of ridiculous to keep doing the same deal over and over and Y: The Last Man is kind of similar. But we’re both huge fans of that comic book.

– IFMagazine talks to Thomas Dekker, TV’s John Connor, about his role on the Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles:

iF: You’ve said before that before you were cast, part of the reason you wanted to do this was because you are such a fan of the TERMINATOR franchise. Were strictly a fan of the movies, or did you get into the comics and books and things?

DEKKER: No, it’s funny and I only have extreme amounts of education in only one comic book line, and that’s EC comics TALES FROM THE CRYPT, VAULT OF HORROR, SHOCK SUSPENSE STORIES, things like that. My moral basis is based on TALES FROM THE CRYPT, because each tales is moralistic tale with outcomes based on what you do in life, so I think those warped my sense of values. [Laughs] But, getting back to your question, no I didn’t read the comics but I studied the films. I discovered them when I was eleven years old; I still have the HOT VHS limited edition box set that was ‘hip’ back then. I always felt connected to John Connor, and when I met with David and Josh, David’s rule of casting is to find actors that already are that part. They felt I already was kind of John, and that he and I had a lot of similarities.

– Nominations for the Golden Raspberry Awards, a.k.a. the Bizarro Oscars that honor the worst films of the year, were announced yesterday. Both Ghost Rider and the second Fantastic Four film received some nods, but neither for worst picture … which makes me really glad I didn’t see all the films that did make the list.

– Want to see what a manga based off of a Nintendo DS game about touching adolescent girls to see if they’re witches looks like? Of course you do. (NSFW, duh. Courtesy of Kotaku.)

–Hasbro is taking orders for a $100 Cloverfield monster toy.
