The Hollywood Reporter reports that the big monster movie Cloverfield brought in $41 million this past weekend, breaking the previous Martin Luther King Day weekend record (2001’s Black Hawk Down and its $28 million). Paramount expects Cloverfield to fall just short of $50 million through Monday.

Went and saw it SAt. noonwith my 12 yr old son. WE both thought it was X=cellent!
When you go see it you need to sit through the credits at the end. Nothing exciting or anything , but a great piece of music called “ROAR” plays over the credits. Their isnt any sound track during the movie itself, but you can close your eyes during the end piece and visualize it playing in certain parts of the movie.
The whole concept of how it was filmed and portrayed on screen was really cool.
As the music ended a guy behind me said,” Was that it? I guess I wont get that 1 1/2 hours of my life back!”. AS I talekd to the usher he said that there has really been no middle ground on the movie. You either really liked it or really hated it.
