Today Moviefone released a still from the Star Trek teaser trailer:
A description of the trailer can be found here. Of course, the trailer is attached to tomorrow’s release of Cloverfield, and should be online (officially) on Monday at the movie’s regular site.

God, I hope we get 20 minutes of lovingly photographed tracking shots of that ship!

We won’t see it until the last 5 minutes of the movie. Betcha.

I hope you are wrong about that but I have a terrible feeling you are correct.

It’s JJ Abrams, so that means we can expect 90 minutes of hinting around and angst about one’s father, and maybe 30 minutes of actual plot.
Still, that is a freakin’ sweet look for the Enterprise. I love the Boeing 787 warp engines for some reason.

Well, both George Kirk and Sarek are supposed to be in the movie (along with Winona Kirk and Amanda), so you may be onto something….
I bet Greg Grunberg is an actual redshirt, as opposed to just acting like one in the first episode of “Lost.”

And he needs to get killed like right away too. In the most hideous and miserable fashion possible on film.
Yeah I think we can expect a Grunberg cameo in some form or another. JJ can’t seem to do a movie or TV show without Greg’s lovable mug popping up at some point. Though I don’t recall seeing him in “Cloverfield”… but then with all the shaky camera work how would you know for sure?
Oh and uhm nice ship.

Grunberg and Abrams were college roommates and he always shows up in whatever Abrams does.
That still looks EXACTLY like the final image of The Voyage Home.

This…Could…possibly be…awesome?

I love all the people FREAKING OUT in the comments of that article, over the fact that a background detail might contradict a footnote in a spinoff guide book. Also it’s always fun when people start getting up in arms over “canon”, especially when they refer to it as “cannon”. Good times.

…Of course, we can fully expect the E’s food synthesizers to offer Slusho as a recommended beverage.

Looking at the picture made me cry a little. It’s been too long since any decent Trek came out.

…Lets just hope this will be decent Trek. I have my reservations
