The Cloverfield Clues blog points to an online manga on the website of Tokyo-based publisher Kadokawa Shoten that serves as a prequel to JJ Abrams’ much-hyped giant-monster movie, Cloverfield.
According to Comic Book Resources, which has dug into Cloverfield: Kishin, the 22-page comic is the first chapter in a four-part series. The second installment is set to appear sometime in February.
The manga is produced by Abrams and written by David Baronoff, Matthew Pitss and Nicole Phillips. Yoshiki Togawa is credited as the illustrator.
Cloverfield opens on Friday.
